Hamasaka says he will only respond to former Botswana President Ian Khama after he explains his marital status

Former Botswana President Ian Khama has been the subject of allegations concerning his sexuality, with claims circulating that he is homosexual.

According to information circulating, Mr. Khama served as Botswana’s President despite the allegations about his sexuality.

Sources within Government have indicated that the former Botswana President is frustrated because the current Zambian administration rejected a proposal to establish a public hospital dedicated to gay people.

There are also claims that Ian Khama is in a relationship with a Zambian man.

“We are not surprised by the tantrums being thrown by Mr. Ian Khama, who has described President Hakainde Hichilema as the newest dictator in Africa! Does stopping a public gay hospital in Zambia make someone a dictator because of your alleged partner?” a source stated.

Meanwhile, State House Communications Specialist Clyson Hamasaka says he will only respond to the former Botswana President after he explains his marital status.

Mr. Hamasaka says the Zambian Government is also wondering about Mr. Khama’s conduct, given the close relationship between the people of Zambia and Botswana, including marriages between citizens of the two countries.

“We will competently respond to statements allegedly made by former Botswana President Ian Khama when we hear that he has finally married. We want to engage any of his children in the discussion.We even doubt whether he is a true Motswana because those people are extremely disciplined and respectful towards others. We have many intermarriages between Zambia and Botswana, so we cannot believe that such statements are being attributed to a former President. We did not even know that he was actually a Member of Parliament in Botswana,” he stated.

“We have been seeing some of his Facebook posts, but we ignored him. However, the hypocrisy is that he has not declared an interest in the fact that some of the individuals currently under police investigation are his personal relatives. Ian Khama was basically among the individuals sponsoring a militia group in Zambia. This is something we knew years ago”.

“Of all the leaders Botswana has had, Ian Khama is the strangest. He has been to State House in Zambia and met President Hakainde Hichilema while lobbying for his personal interests, yet today he labels him a dictator,” he stated.
