Wicknell Chivayo’s Multimillion-Dollar Estate Registered With Master Of High Court
The estate of late businessman and philanthropist Wicknell Chivayo has officially entered the administration process, with his family registering it with the Master of the High Court approximately three weeks after his death.

However, the process of determining who will oversee his multimillion-dollar fortune is still pending, as no executor or executrix has been appointed to handle the estate.

The registration was followed by an initial meeting at the Master of the High Court’s Office, where preliminary discussions on the estate were held. The details of what was discussed have not been made public.

Senior officials at the office confirmed the registration and the meeting to SundayMail, but indicated that the administration process had not yet reached the stage where further information could be shared.

Master Of High Court Yet To Appoint Executor
Without an appointed executor, the formal assessment of Chivayo’s estate is yet to commence.

The appointed representative will be responsible for establishing the full extent of his assets, determining any outstanding debts and liabilities, and overseeing the eventual distribution of the inheritance in accordance with the law.

The estate is believed to be worth millions of United States dollars, although its exact value has not been disclosed.

One senior official confirmed that the registration had taken place but said the appointment of an executor or executrix was still outstanding.

Another source familiar with the matter indicated that the Master of the High Court was not yet ready to release further information.

The office is expected to provide more details once it is in a position to discuss the administration of the estate.

US$25 Million Dispute Could Complicate Estate Administration
The administration of Chivayo’s estate could involve several complex issues, considering his extensive business interests, personal wealth and legal matters that remained unresolved before his death.

Among the outstanding matters is a US$25 million matrimonial property and asset division dispute involving his former wife, Sonja Madzikanda.

The matter had been awaiting determination by the Supreme Court at the time of his death, leaving questions surrounding the dispute as one of the issues that could arise during the administration of his estate.

With an executor yet to be appointed, the process of accounting for his fortune and resolving the outstanding matters surrounding his estate remains at an early stage.
