ALL EYES ON MUSOKOTWANE AS ZAMBIA UNVEILS 2027 BUDGET TODAY

Finance and National Planning Minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane is today, Friday, November 6, expected to present Zambia’s 2027 National Budget to Parliament, outlining Government’s spending plans, revenue measures and economic priorities for the coming year.

The National Assembly’s order paper confirms that the budget presentation is scheduled for this afternoon, with proceedings starting at 14:15 hours.

The presentation follows a one-week postponement from October 30, after Vice-President Mutale Nalumango informed Parliament that Government was still finalising the budget

Cabinet has since approved the proposed financial plan, including measures covering revenue collection, public expenditure and structural reforms.

Chief Government Spokesperson Elvis Nkandu said Cabinet emphasised prudent management of public resources and sustained economic stability as Government advances its Grow Zambia Agenda.

Today’s presentation will reveal the proposed allocations to public services and development programmes, alongside any tax changes affecting households and businesses.

The detailed figures and measures will become clear when Dr Musokotwane delivers his address.
