Pastor jailed 60-years after defiling Church teen, raping woman seeking spiritual help
A BOTSWANA pastor, Goitsekgosi Mojadigo, is set to spend 60 years in prison after being sentenced to an effective 40 years for defiling a 17-year-old church congregant, in addition to an earlier 20-year sentence for raping a woman who sought spiritual help.
Mojadigo, 35, founder of Divine Anointing Church International, was convicted on three counts of defilement by the Mochudi Magistrate’s Court on yesterday, November 6
The Botswana Police Service says the offences were committed between December 2024 and March 2025, when the victim was a congregant at the church where Mojadigo served as pastor.
The court sentenced him to 20 years’ imprisonment on each of the three counts.
However, it ordered that the sentences on counts one and two run concurrently, while the sentence on count four run consecutively, resulting in an effective 40-year jail term.
The 40-year sentence will run consecutively to the 20 years he is already serving following an earlier conviction for raping a woman who had approached him seeking spiritual assistance.
Mojadigo was convicted on three of the four defilement counts brought against him.
The Botswana Police Service says the latest conviction followed investigations in which officers gathered evidence that secured his prosecution.
