KENYAN PRESIDENT WILLIAM RUTO’S DAUGHTER CHARLENE WEDS TANZANIAN ENTREPRENEUR ISAYA YUNGE
Charlene Ruto, daughter of Kenyan President William Ruto, married Tanzanian tech entrepreneur Isaya Yunge on Friday, 6 November 2026, in a ceremony on the shores of Lake Victoria in Mwanza, Tanzania.
President Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto walked their daughter down the aisle at Malaika Beach Hotel. Charlene wore a floral wedding gown, and the couple exchanged vows before a bishop in an outdoor ceremony attended by relatives, friends and political leaders.
The wedding took place in Yunge’s hometown, three months after the couple held their koito, a traditional Kalenjin engagement ceremony, at the Ruto family’s Intonna Heritage Farm in Kilgoris, Kenya.
The celebrations began in Nairobi with a bridal shower on 3 November. The following day, the First Lady hosted a Mother’s Blessing ceremony, bringing together relatives and close friends to pray for Charlene ahead of her marriage.
After the wedding, Kenyan leaders shared congratulatory messages, offering prayers and warm wishes to the newlyweds.
