Against all odds, comrade M’membe will win by a landslide in 2026
By Christopher C Mulwanda
Record breaking entails that you do something unusual; beyond people’s expectations.
It implies changing the status quo by proving critics wrong. There’s always the first time. Human perceptions and predictions may be limited to prevailing circumstances but my faith tells me that it’s quite definite that Zambia’s fashionable Socialist Party (SP) will emerge victorious in the aftermath of the 12th August 2026 general polls.
If you truly feel the excruciating sting of economic bees then you may realise that change of regime may be inevitable in 2026.The UPND should brace themselves for a rude shock as the ironic twist of fate spells painful defeat for the Bally-led regime in 2026. The SP will undoubtedly win by a landslide because the electorate have regretted having voted for the UPND whose governance system purely hinges on vengeance and vindictiveness, mainly targeting officials from the previous regime. This is uncalled for as it soils the sacred character of democracy and human justice. Besides, the cost of living has skyrocketed under the new dawn government, making it worse than it was during the harshly castigated PF regime. Imagine a bag of mealie-meal costing over K150! That’s quite obnoxious. It is a stark reality that the UPND has failed to honour some of their campaign promises so soon.
The recent reduction of fuel prices may be deemed to be a mockery and affront to a Zambian’s dignity. For example, you increase fuel by K4 and down the lane you reduce by K1.32, what kind of thinking is that? The so-called new dawn regime should have reduced the price of this commodity by at least K5 to K6, downscaling the price to a figure way below K17 per litre. Even if the price of fuel had remained static at K17, the citizens of this country would still have good reason to castigate the regime because UPND’s sweet promise was that they would reduce the price of the commodity. They should stop insulting our intelligence.
Today Zambians regret having enthroned HH and his cohorts. They optimistically thought he would reduce mealie meal price to K50 and fuel price to less than K10 per liter. For this reason, we need the Socialist Party that is anchored on humility, honesty, equity and solidarity. Let us all rally behind the socialist fire brand in the name of FM8 (Fred M’membe the eighth president).
President HH should cut on unnecessary presidential trips which he strongly spoke against when PF was in power. Now that he has tasted that power is sweet, he is ever up and down, making himself a very good presidential tourist with over 20 foreign trips in barely 11 months. Of what worth were some of those trips other than the USA, Glasgore and Malawi trips? We are blessed with a black John Walker, the great kamwendo mundeke. I will not mention him because kuti bakukonka as their custom is!
Zambians must get geared for harsher times under the Bally-led regime, but the good thing is that the UPND is announcing its exit in August, 2026. Just like they came, so will they pack and go. I beg you the people of Zambia to show the UPND an exit sign through the ballot power. Vote Dr Fred M’membe and the SP into power because they understand the citizens’ challenges.
All the UPND knows is to summon former and current PF officials at the expense of national development. The late president Michael Sata had no time to waste on persecuting political opponents. Instead, he endeavoured to build the nation and today we can enjoy the unprecedented development, including Bally himself because the nice roads and the international conference he will be using for the AU summit were constructed under the Chagwa-led regime. Umuntu aletasha, napapata. Anyway, do not worry comrades, we will be economically emancipated in 2026 after FM8 and the SP win by landslide. I regret having voted Bally into office. I even sold my dogs because I can’t feed them.
