KASEBA MARKETS ZAMBIA IN SPAIN

Zambia’s Ambassador to France, Dr. Christine Kaseba Sata, has urged Spanish investors in Madrid to make Zambia a preferred investment destination of choice.

Kaseba has called on the investors to commence their investment activities in sectors such as Tourism, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Mining and Energy.

The former First Lady made the remarks during a business forum held in Spain in collaboration with Madrid Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Kaseba said Zambia’s macroeconomic fundamentals are looking better, thereby triggering an increased investor confidence in the economy.

She noted that in 2023, the country attracted over 8.5 billion United States Dollars compared to 3.3 billion United States Dollars in 2021, representing an increase of 158 per cent.

Kaseba urged the investors to take advantage of the huge export markets that Zambia offers such as the African Continental Free Trade Area, Southern Africa Development Community, the Common Market for Eastern, Southern Africa and the European Union.

At the same event, Zambia Tourism Agency Acting Chief Executive officer, Chavunga Lungu, appealed to the investors to channel their resources in Zambia’s rich tourism sector which guarantees premium returns.

Meanwhile, First Secretary for Economic & Trade Chibwe Chisala delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining priority sectors of investment in Zambia.
