HICHILEMA INADEQUATE AND PETTY

The failure to invite former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu at the funeral of the former First Lady Mrs Maureen Kakubo Mwanawasa lies in the imaginary fear of the unknown and the pettiness of Mr Hichilema.

There is absolutely nothing wrong for the incumbent President and the former president to attend a funeral.

It is in essence a good thing to demonstrate unity and oneness when a nation is mourning rather than to treat such occasions for political posturing.

The office of the former President does not stand abolished on account of the former president being active in politics. In times of national crisis and events the office holder must be officially invited.

It is absolutely disrespectful for Cabinet office to invite Mr Lungu in the category of an opposition leader.

In a nutshell , if it’s true that the former President has been barred or has not been invited to attend the funeral of the former First Lady on account that Mr Hichilema will be in attendance is absolutely wrong , that behavior is unZambian and absolutely stinks.

  1. So now he is refusing to be within 100 meters of every person he has disagreed with in the past?

In politics, one needs a thick skin. You can not be a sissy. This is a man’s game. Man up fast.

    Vote wisely in 2026.

    • Indigo Tryol fuseki for having a chicken memory. HH mourned Sata at his home during your criminal PF Regime, then today you want to play innocence. Stupid PF criminal iwe who doesn’t understand life and living. Ufuna vikuwamike iwe weka m*tuvi yako. Remove the log in your squint eyes before attempting to see a log in HH’s eyes PF makaka iwe.

  2. Has Msoni forgotten that the same Lungu never invited HH at KK’s funeral? HH was watching the funeral proceedings from his home and the same Msoni never uttered a word. Was Lungu being respectful to HH that time? Why making noise now pali ba Maureen? If Lungu is not invited, let him also watch from home, don’t create an issue out of nothing. I believe HH plays no part in choosing people who should be invited to attend the funeral of dignitary like Maureen, mulekeni umuntu, wakaele.

  3. Maureen is not the late president. You compare HH not attending Sata funeral, was it not people like you sending sad messages and pictures digitally altered demonising Sata. Some of the comments HH was making were sad in nature and inhumane.
Now Maureen who was discarded by HH, she suffered and tormented by many people for helping HH to gain popularity in Chongwe area. What did you reward her even when she was in financial distress and troubles, the president housing half built was put on marketplace for sale so that she can redeem herself but was told this remains a government property because it was not finished. She suffered from angina due to her heart overworking compounded by social stressors . Today with no shame you have come to show you care when in life you discarded her like a leper. Shame on you. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

  4. We are in Africa. Do you need to be invited for a funeral or to visit the sick in the Hospital, in our society when you hear a funeral announcement you immediately decide whether you will attend of not, it is not a weeding where you need an invitation card.
