PRESIDENT HICHILEMA’S GOVERNMENT MOVES ZAMBIA FROM NON-ALIGNED FOREIGN POLICY- MPs

Patriotic Front PF Members of Parliament have accused The UPND administration of President Hakainde Hichilema of departing from Zambia’s non-aligned foreign policy.
Hon Ronald Chitole and Hon Miles Sampa both PF MPs said Zambia’s decision to vote for a United Nations resolution against Russia’s aggression on Ukraine may have ramifications on bilateral relations with Moscow which have existed since 1964.
They said at Different times in Parliament that the former ruling Party PF is shocked at Government’s shift in its foreign policy without consulting the people of Zambia through Parliament prompting hence the points of order from Hon Chitotela and Hon Sampa.
Ukraine, like the UPND administration, is being sucked into the Western grip, except Zambia is of no strategic importance internationally.
Eastward expansion of NATO towards Russia, the USA/NATO training and arming Ukraine the past 8 years just next to Russia is intolerable.
Several stakeholders have questioned US’s hypocrisy and wondered what would happen if Russia was to train and arm Mexico or Canada next door and put offensive weapons there, what would the USA do?Very predictable!
Western powers are making the mistake of admitting Ukraine into NATO and subsequently having military activities in that country, going against previous agreements…Unless the New Dawn Government which is a puppet of USA and EU will server Zambia’s diplomatic ties with Russia and China.
Historically our foreign policy has been based on NON-ALIGNMENT, meaning neither East nor West.
For the first time since independence we have a government which is PURELY WEST.
And militarily Zambian armed forces and intelligence services have been trained in and by Russia for years immemorial.
Following a question by Matero Member of Parliament, Vice President Nalumango informed Parliament last week that Zambia would take a neutral position on the Russia/Ukraine war. That’s what all southern African states who historically were Frontline States did when they abstained from the vote except those former puppets like Malawi and Botswana.
Abstaining is different from voting NO.
Russia actually gives more University scholarships to Zambia than any other country on earth and this has been happening for years.
There’s a reason why South Africa, Tanzania, Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe abstained…just like the USA always shoots down (not abstain) any motion to do with Israel even when they have massacred thousands of Palestinians.
