Mundubile Clarifies ECL Leadership Style Remarks
…deliberately Taken Out of Context

Leading presidential aspirant Hon. Brian Mundubile has moved to clarify remarks he made about adopting the “non vengeance” leadership style of Zambia’s sixth President, Edgar Chagwa Lungu, saying his words were misinterpreted by critics.
Mundubile, the Tonse Alliance leader and Mporokoso legislator, explained that his admiration for Lungu’s approach was rooted in the former president’s ability to put national interest above partisan or regional considerations.
“President Lungu built a school in Bweenga, an area that never voted for him. He extended power lines to Dundumwezi and roads to Solwezi—strongholds of the opposition. That is the kind of leadership I want to emulate: a President for all Zambians, whether they voted for me or not,” Mundubile said.
He contrasted this with what he described as the current government’s tendency to favour regions politically aligned to the ruling party. “Regionalism is dangerous. It divides rather than unites,” he warned.
Political analyst Dr. Sishuwa Sishuwa has similarly observed: “Zambia’s politics have increasingly taken on a regional character, undermining national cohesion.
Mundubile stressed that his vision is one of hope and inclusivity. “I seek to heal divisions, not deepen them. My leadership will be anchored on kindness, fairness, and service to all citizens,” he said.
As Zambia heads to the polls on August 13, with President Hakainde Hichilema seeking re election amid economic challenges, corruption concerns, and a restless youth vote, Mundubile’s message is clear: he wants to rise above vengeance and favouritism.
“The best characteristic of President Lungu was his ability to put Zambia first. That is the path I choose,” Mundubile affirmed.

Is this man serious? CDF is now dispensed as a development tool without regard to political leaning. Who is Mr. Mundubile fooling? We all know what Mr. Lungu and PF stood for – divisive politics (retirement of people from non-PF regions in “national interest”, a Tonga cannot be president. Even at the PF funeral wake afterthe demise of Mr. Lungu, cadres banned the singing of Tonga religious songs.
Please, donot take us for fools. Those painful memories are still fresh.
In case someone thinks I am Tonga or from the so called Zambezi provinces, I am not. I was disgusted by the politics of PF and Consider them a blight on the history of this wonderful country.
There is nothing positive Lungu did. Can you cite examples of the current favouritism of some regions? I am Nsenga by tribe, the tribe Lungu claimed to be. The only legacy I know of Lungu is gifting his family and tolerating violence. Do not think we have forgotten. If PF continued in power, things would have been worse. Talk of how you can improve education, mining, agriculture, manufacturing, … Not the nonissues you are talking about. So far I have not heard why I should vote for you.
