REFUTATION OF FALSE CLAIMS REGARDING RAPE ON REGISTERED NURSE

REFUTATION OF FALSE CLAIMS REGARDING RAPE ON REGISTERED NURSE

October 8,2024-The Zambia Police Service wishes to inform the public that we have received reports circulating on social media claiming that a registered nurse from Chongwe, identified as Mirble Chanda, was raped by five ex-soldiers at Pastor Nevers Mumba’s farm. We would like to categorically refute these claims as unfounded and untrue.

Following these allegations, our officers conducted inquiries at Chongwe District Hospital to verify the existence of a nurse by the name of Mirble Chanda. Our investigation revealed that no such individual is employed at the hospital, and there are no records to substantiate these claims.

We take this opportunity to warn individuals responsible for the dissemination of these false messages, which are intended to instill fear and panic among the public. The Zambia Police Service is committed to maintaining peace and order, and we will not hesitate to take legal action against those who engage in spreading false information.

We urge members of the public to refrain from sharing unverified information and to report any suspicious activities to the police.

Nkani yamuboba….from Soldiers beating up an unruly person who assulted one of their own. To Mwamba suggesting that Kawana issued a statement that we have not seen, meanwhile the Army spokeperson made a statement.
What do you expect when lies are being spread by Senior party leaders? The semi literate will add their own “dyonko” in the story, and with social media the innuendo spreads.
Now when chaps like Nakachinda and Mwamba are arrested for the same charge over and over again. Do we not see the danger of the lies and misinformation?
