The Lubinda-led PF faction is now living through a double tragedy of its own making: first, being frozen by the courts; second, being outpaced by history. When the Kabwe High Court reaffirmed the injunction restraining PF from holding a convention, it did more than stop a meeting—it exposed a movement stuck in yesterday while the board has already changed.
Enter Brian Mundubile. While others were busy arguing about legality, ownership, and who sits where, Mundubile quietly ate lunch. Not out of malice, but out of timing. Leadership is not about shouting the loudest; it is about knowing when the door is closing and choosing the window. Tonse Alliance became that window. By the time the Lubinda faction looked up, the plate was empty, and the question sounded painfully familiar: who moved my cheese?
This is where strategy separates adults from spectators. Sun Tzu warned that victory belongs to those who understand terrain and timing. Tonse Alliance read the weather. It saw the legal storm gathering over PF and chose movement over paralysis. The postponement of the Congress—derided by some as retreat—was in fact misdirection. In war, you sometimes step back so the opponent steps into thin air. Online threats of injunctions came; Tonse adjusted, absorbed pressure, and kept momentum. That is mingalato at its finest: advance without collision, win without chaos.
The tragedy for the Lubinda faction is philosophical. Power was treated as inheritance, not stewardship. Conventions were delayed, authority personalized, succession feared. When a leader publicly signals he cannot hand over because “no one is better,” he confesses not strength but insecurity. History does not wait for comfort. It rewards courage.
Brian Mundubile’s rise is therefore not an accident; it is a consequence. He chose law over drama, coalition over captivity, movement over mourning. Congratulations are due—not as flattery, but as recognition of judgment under pressure. Politics done properly looks boring until it wins.
And credit must also go where courage was required most: Professor Dan Pule. It takes a rare leader to hold the middle when factions pull apart, to choose unity when ego tempts spectacle. His steadiness kept the bridge standing long enough for others to cross.
The lesson is simple and old. Those who cling to the past ask who ate their cheese. Those who read the future are already cooking the next meal. Tonse Alliance did not steal lunch; it planned dinner.

Dan Pule led Tonse Alliance presidency, Chair or Leadership will not help Mundubile anything, it will just make his political path from bad to worse. An Alliance is a group of Parties (Allied Parties) who have come together to make a formidable force to enable them defeat a more strong opponent. And out of those parties, one is elected to lead the alliance but how can Mundubile be a leader of Allied parties when he has no party that he leads? It’s like becoming the chair of AU when you are not a leader or president of any country. How possible can that be? So those people who are saying Mundubile is going nowhere are very much right.
This Mundubile story is amusing and laughable, it’s like magical.How he managed to quickly take it, as simple as all that, “bali shipula” Bemba meaning others had a nap or siesta if you like.The gallant lad.Latin: “Necessistas non habet legem”, English Necessity knows no law it is actually a proverb that means, urgent, desperate, or extreme circumstances can compel individuals to ignore or break established laws or moral norms to survive”.The PF faction and their deciplinary action has failed to work on the unstoppable clever man.
