14 SECURITY COUNCIL MEMBERS SUPPORT A CEASEFIRE—RUSSIA STANDS ALONE
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha told the United Nations Security Council that 14 of its 15 members support an immediate ceasefire in one form or another—including the four permanent members other than Russia.
“Only one aggressor is blocking it. Russia is vetoing peace,” Sybiha said.
Responding to Sergey Lavrov’s address, the Ukrainian foreign minister added: “I forced myself to listen to the Russian representative’s boring tales again, just to make sure they haven’t changed.”
Sybiha argued that Ukraine has already accepted the proposal for a full, immediate and unconditional ceasefire, while Moscow continues rejecting it and repeating the same justifications for its invasion.
