3 LIES THEY ARE SHOUTING TODAY — HERE IS THE TRUTH
================
By Mupishi Jones
Zambians, today opposition is moving in circles shouting 3 things. Let us hit them one by one with facts, not noise.
LIE 1: “HH PROMISED FUEL K12, NOW IT’S K31.46 — HE LIED”
Truth: You cannot promise K12 when world oil is $121 per barrel.
ERB Chairman James Banda said it himself — Government protected you for 6 months from April to September by removing excise duty and VAT. Without that, you would have paid K31 long ago. Finance Minister Musokotwane said Treasury was bleeding, we could not sustain it forever.
Is it only Zambia? South Africa petrol is going to R30.04 next month — record high. USA, France, everywhere fuel is up because of Middle East war.
What is HH doing? He didn’t sit in State House complaining. He went to UAE, met ADNOC, secured $2.14 Billion, and asked them: “Help us END this monthly ERB shock. Give us 2-3 months stable price.” That is leadership. Others just shout on Facebook.
LIE 2: “HH IS A DICTATOR, ARRESTING CHURCH AND OPPOSITION”
Truth: No one is above the law. Not a Bishop, not an MP, not even me Mupishi Jones.
Archbishop Banda case is in court. Mundubile case is in High Court 26th October to 6th November. Let courts decide, not Facebook.
State House said it clearly: Arrest is not guilt, and arrest is not persecution.
HH himself was arrested and spent 127 days in prison under PF. Did he burn the country? No. He went to court. So why should others be special?
Don’t use the Church to do politics. Zambia is not in crisis. USA and China have congratulated HH. Investors are coming because they see stability, not your lies.
LIE 3: “ECONOMY IS GROWING ON PAPER, PEOPLE FEEL NOTHING”
Truth: We agree — life is still hard for many families. Even HH himself said it: “A lot of families still need support beyond what we are delivering, we hear you.
But direction matters. Inflation is now 6.5% — lowest in 8 years. Debt has been restructured. Copper production is up. $2.1bn from UAE is for health, energy, logistics and jobs.
You don’t fix 10 years of debt and destruction in one day. But you fix it by going to look for investors, not by scaring them away with lies on social media.
My message to opposition: When you come with lies, we shall hit you with truth. Some of us have offered ourselves to defend this party and this President, and we will not be civil to lies.
Zambia chose peace over chaos. Zambia chose development over noise.
Let us move.
