37 DAYS IN CUSTODY… THEN US$5,000 BAIL FOR KELSEA
Kelsea Tafirenyika has finally secured US$5,000 bail from the Harare High Court after spending 37 days in custody across two separate criminal cases.
Tafirenyika was first arrested on August 4 in connection with allegations of drug dealing and was later granted US$1,000 bail in that case.
But she was immediately re-arrested over separate money-laundering allegations, keeping her behind bars as the second case proceeded.
Now, on September 9, the High Court has granted her US$5,000 bail on appeal in the money-laundering matter.
The dramatic twist means Tafirenyika walks out facing two separate criminal cases while on bail.
