UNITED STATES: 85-year-old Martha Stewart says she loves being single and prefers younger men
Lifestyle entrepreneur and TV personality Martha Stewart says she has no plans to remarry and is happier being single.
Speaking to People magazine while recreating her iconic 1995 cover, Stewart reflected on life since her divorce in 1990.
“The older you get, the less you really need a mate, I think. I wouldn’t want to be beleaguered with an older, ill person,” the 85-year-old said.
Stewart said she keeps an active social life, though not with traditional dates. “I’ve got lots of friends,” she noted, joking that people know she won’t stay long at parties: “They know if they invite me to a party, I’m not going to be there for long.”
She also said she no longer envies married friends and values the freedom of being single. When it comes to romance, Stewart made it clear she prefers the company of younger men.
