I commend the patriots in the American military who have taken this decision. It of course creates a constitutional crisis of sorts because law is dumb, stupid and stationary whereas society is dynamic. The USA military right now has a Trump problem, that is, a commander-in-chief who’s unhinged and still has to obeyed anyway. Law and social science scholars have their work cut out.
