IT IS OUR PATRIOTIC DUTY TO STOP A RETURN TO KAPONYANOMICS
Facts do not lie. In 2011, the PF government inherited foreign exchange reserves of about US$2.3 billion. By the time the UPND Alliance took office in 2021, those reserves had fallen to around US$1.2 billion. Today, they have risen to US$6.5 billion.
The exchange rate tells a similar story. In 2011, the US dollar traded at about K4.60 to K4.80 (rebased kwacha). By July 2021, it had weakened to around K22.8 per US dollar. Today, the kwacha has recovered significantly from those levels.
These are not slogans. These are facts. Zambia cannot afford to return to economic policies that depleted our reserves, weakened our currency, and pushed our nation into debt distress. Our patriotic duty is to protect the progress made and continue building a stronger economy for every Zambian.
Numbers speak louder than propaganda.

The problem with UPND and its alliance is that they are failing to communicate the gains to the common man in the street. Zambian politics is Kaponyanomics, whether you like it or not. The vast majority of Zambians do not know what inflation or exchange rate means. They know about ‘aka bwali.’ FTJ Chiluba told Guy Scott not to touch mealie meal. HH, like Guy Scott, failed to understand the importance of ‘ka bwali’ to Zambians. He could have easily taken $500 million from the reserves and subsidised mealie meal to less than K100 per 50 kg bag in the last one year. The opposition would have cried foul, but who cares? Zambians would not. By now, he would have been home and dry. Ubunga is ALWAYS on the ballot in Zambia.
That’s foolish of Zambian wanting free things, at one point this has to come to an end. Aka bwali brought more hardships than we could have been. And people like yourself that sympathise with a wrong to justify why we should take a wrong direction are equally wrong people even to post a write that support thieves who share what isn’t theirs. Actually you are the problem and with your character zambua ll remain a poor nation.
