KIM JONG UN CRITICIZES ARAB STATES OVER DEFENSE DEPENDENCE ON THE U.S.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has once again turned his attention toward Arab countries, criticizing their heavy reliance on foreign military support, particularly from the United States.
Kim reportedly expressed concern over the large sums of money Arab nations spend on purchasing weapons from Washington, arguing that countries should focus on developing their own defense industries instead of depending on external powers for security.
In remarks attributed to the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un said:
> “Instead of relying on the United States and Israel, Arab countries should build their own military capabilities and defense industries in order to achieve self-reliance.”
The comments reflect North Korea’s long-standing position against U.S. military influence around the world. Pyongyang has frequently criticized American alliances and arms sales, presenting domestic military development as a model for national independence.
However, analysts note that many Arab states view defense partnerships with the United States and other allies as essential for regional security, given ongoing conflicts and strategic threats in the Middle East.
The remarks have sparked debate over whether countries should prioritize military self-sufficiency or continue relying on international security partnerships.
