BREAKING: Adam Schiff demands Elon Musk testify UNDER OATH over Ukraine satellite sabotage scandal – declares that either Trump or Musk is LYING!
Senator Adam Schiff is demanding a full congressional investigation after explosive new reporting revealed that Elon Musk personally ordered restrictions on satellite communications used by Ukrainian forces to defend themselves against Russian attacks.
Schiff wants Musk hauled before Congress, sworn in, and forced to explain what happened.
“Either the President was lying or Musk was lying,” Schiff declared, warning that the decision to slow satellite communications has “life or death consequences for Ukraine.”
The controversy erupted after The Wall Street Journal reported that Musk ordered SpaceX to slow down satellite connectivity relied upon by Ukrainian forces. CBS News independently confirmed that Musk’s decision led to the restrictions.
The consequences on the battlefield were immediate. Ukrainian troops reported that their drones were losing connections in flight, disrupting missions to attack Russian targets and intercept incoming threats.
Some of those drones are designed to stop Russian attacks before they reach Ukrainian cities. Without reliable satellite connections, they can become virtually useless.
Schiff’s central question is who gave the order – and what Donald Trump knew about it. Trump insisted last week that neither he nor Musk was responsible.
“It wasn’t me, and I don’t think it was Elon,” he told reporters.
But Musk had previously pointed the finger at Washington, declaring that decisions about Starshield’s speed and usage were ultimately controlled by the U.S. military and the president.
The Journal’s reporting tells a different story: Musk ordered the restrictions himself, and that he and Trump discussed the matter after the slowdown became public. One source said they had also discussed the issue beforehand.
Schiff wants answers.
“This deserves a full investigation by the Senate,” he wrote. “Elon Musk should be compelled to testify before Congress and under oath.”
He added that American national security decisions must serve the country’s interests, rather than “the personal whim of an unstable executive.”
The finger-pointing continued Wednesday when Secretary of State Marco Rubio insisted that decisions about Starlink access belong to Musk and SpaceX, not the White House.
Rubio said he wasn’t aware that the administration knew about the decision beforehand, while insisting that the president had not requested the restrictions.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says the satellite service remains limited.
The stakes extend far beyond who’s lying (they are both liars). Ukraine depends on these communications to operate drones, coordinate missions, and defend against Russian attacks.
Interrupting that access renders Ukrainian forces unable to carry out missions when every second counts.
Americans likewise deserve to know whether a private billionaire made a decision affecting another country’s ability to defend itself, whether the president was involved, and why the two offered conflicting explanations.
Schiff is demanding sworn testimony because these are questions that cannot be settled by dueling social media posts.
For Ukrainian soldiers relying on those connections to survive and protect their countrymen, the answers matter even more.
They are a matter of life and death.
