Akon found out he was performing in Baltimore while he was sitting in New York.
Speaking on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, he revealed that his brother secretly booked concerts under his name, performed as him and pocketed the money:
“He would go as me, he was a straight gangsta about it, and keep all the money for him without telling me nothing”.
Akon said audiences couldn’t tell the difference, and he sometimes discovered the bookings through flyers advertising his supposed appearance.
