ALEXANDER CHITEME MAKES PARLIAMENTARY COMEBACK IN NKANA

ALEXANDER Chiteme has been elected Member of Parliament for Nkana Constituency after polling 19,344 votes in last Thursday’s election.

Chiteme, who lost the seat in the 2021 General Election, has made a comeback to Parliament after defeating three other candidates.

The NRPUP candidate was followed by UPND’s Francis Mukuka, who polled 9,359 votes. Independent candidates Elice Muchindu and David Chewa finished third and fourth with 2,040 and 502 votes, respectively.

The Nkana Returning Officer said a total of 31,830 votes were cast, with 585 ballots rejected as invalid.
