🇳🇪🇩🇿 BREAKING: Algeria Delivers Four Su-30 Fighter Jets and New Military Equipment to Niger

The warplanes seen flying over Niger’s capital, Niamey, on Sunday evening were later identified as part of a major military package reportedly delivered by Algeria to Niger, aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation and boosting the operational capabilities of the Nigerien Armed Forces.

The package reportedly includes four Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jets, an Ilyushin Il-76 military transport aircraft, and an Il-78 aerial refueling tanker, along with additional military equipment intended to support Niger’s expanding defense capabilities.

The aircraft arrived at Diori Hamani International Airport in Niamey, where they were reportedly handed over to Nigerien authorities by a senior Algerian military commander, highlighting the growing defense and military partnership between Algiers and Niamey.

The handover ceremony was attended by senior Nigerien officials, including Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, the Minister of National Defense, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the Chief of Staff to the President, the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, as well as other senior military and civilian officials.

The latest delivery follows Niger’s reported receipt of four military helicopters on August 9, including two Mi-171 transport helicopters and two Mi-24 attack helicopters, pointing to a significant acceleration in military cooperation between Algeria and Niger in recent weeks.

The development confirms that the aircraft spotted over Niamey were not conducting a routine flight, but were reportedly part of the arrival of new Algerian air and military support designed to strengthen the capabilities of Niger’s armed forces.
