AMOS CHANDA CALLS FOR GRACE IN DEFEAT AND NATIONAL UNITY
Political Analyst Amos Chanda has called for national unity and political stability following the conclusion of the election season.
Speaking in Lusaka, Mr. Chanda said those who lost the elections should show grace in defeat and accept the outcome in the interest of peace and national unity.
Mr. Chanda has urged the country to move beyond perpetual campaigning and focus on national development.
He has also called on the opposition to quickly consolidate and provide credible checks and balances, not only in Parliament but also in local councils.
He said a strong and constructive opposition was important for promoting accountability and ensuring that government remained responsive to the needs of the people.
