ANC Admits Service Delivery Failures, Promises Renewal and Accountability, and Now Asks South Africans to Give the Party Another Chance Ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections

The ANC has appealed to South Africans to give the party another opportunity at the ballot box ahead of the upcoming local government elections.

During a recent briefing, ANC leaders acknowledged shortcomings in service delivery and governance, saying lessons have been learned from past challenges. The party said it has undergone a renewal process and promised stronger accountability, improved leadership and better delivery of services if voters place their trust in it once again.

The ANC also blamed coalition politics for difficulties experienced in municipalities such as Johannesburg and Tshwane, arguing that unstable coalitions have contributed to governance problems. Party leaders vowed to work towards restoring stability and improving conditions in key metros.

With the 2026 local elections approaching, the ANC is expected to launch its new manifesto and convince voters that it can address the issues that have frustrated many South Africans over the years.
