Antonio Mwanza spells hard times ahead for Zambians
…as IMF conditionalities kick in

28.09.22

Antonio Mwanza, the PF Media Director has warned ordinary Zambians who are in the majority to brace for further poverty and hunger as soon as International Monetary Fund (IMF) conditionalities imposed on Zambia.

Mr Mwanza said if Zambians think they are suffering today, things will get worse once fuel prices rise further and food prices too, which unfortunately wont affect the UPND senior government officials and President Hakainde Hichilema whom he calls by his other first name “Sammy”.

Mr Mwanza said, “unga uzadula (food prices will increase) fuel will also increase and so will electricity and bus fares that have already jumped from K10 per trip ten months ago to K20.”
He was speaking in a LMR interview with Wiseman Zulu, a programme that attracted the ire of the public that called in droves to complain about how poor and hungry the have become since President “Sammy” assumed office.

Mr Mwanza said Mr Hichilema over promised in a despeate bid to win the presidency, consequently he will feel the wrath of the Zambians in about three and a half years when his term ends.
He said the UPND was arrogant and indifferent to the suffering of the ordinary people because cabinet ministers earn K109, 000 per month and additional K27,000 housing allowance while ordinary Zambians in the public service earn K4000.

“Things are worse for old people, the sick, the retirees and orphans, 54,000 of whom have been dropped off the list of the Fertiliser in put support programme (FISP) by President Sammy Hichilema.
“These poor people earn only K400 per month from the social cash transfer, yet they are expected to buy themselves a fertiliser bag costing above K1000.

Mr Mwanza said if Zambians knew what kind of person Mr Hichilema is and what he brings to national politics, they would have not voted for him lasty year but as “smooth criminal” Mr Hichilema got himself elected.

Fuel prices currently at K21 and K23 are expected to rise to as much as K5 in less than one week once Mr Hichilema brings back the taxes the previous administration of President Edgar Lungu scrapped to keep prices low. Mr Mwanza also wondred why President Sammy has not given students the meal allowances he promised them in order to win their vote. He lied to university students said Mr Mwanza.
When prices of fuel increase in Zambia, everything else follows.
