ARREST THE UPND HOOLIGANS WITHIN 48 HOURS FOR CLOSING COUNCIL OFFICES- SINDA MP TELLS POLICE

Sinda Constituency Member of Parliament Masauso Tembo popularly know as Kazungula has challenged the Zambia police and Minister of Local Government Garry Nkombo to ensure that a group of unruly cadres belonging to the ruling United Party for National Development -UPND who forcefully locked up the Council offices in his Constituency are arrested within 48 hours.

Speaking to iTvNews , the Sinda lawmaker says he still can’t believe that the UPND cadres can decide to lock up government offices in the name of the Council Secretary, paralyzing operations at this critical hour when the Constituency and the Country at larger is in dare need of development on allegations that they have been sidelined from empowerments or contracts by the Council authorities.

Mr. Tembo has expressed worry at the action by the ruling party cadres describing their claims as fake. He said although he as area MP doesn’t not have a say in the procurement process but as a lawmaker he fully understand that the process being questioned by the said youths was witnessed and scrutinized by the officials from the Anti-Corruption Commission -ACC therefore it is unfair for the cadres to accuse either the Council Secretary and the entire staff of being corruption. He added that unless the UPND youths are trying to advance a point that the ACC is corrupt being the one which scrutinized the process. He said failure to which, there is urgent need to for the police to arrested all those who were involved for harrasing Civil Servants and disrupting Service Delivery.

The Sinda MP who has since issued a forty eight hour altimaturm to the officers in which they must act, says it is also important for Minister of Local government Garry to be the one who should champion this agenda of arrest to the unruly cadres.

“Kazungula” has emphasized that Zambians have been made aware that President Hakainde Hichilema and the new Dawn government does not entertain lawlessness among party cadres irregardless of which political party they belong to, it is therefore unbelievable and sikenening to have such a behavior from Cadres from the ruling Party. However, “I’m happy that UPND Secretary General Mr. Batuke Imenda has condemned the act by his cadres in Sinda District, but that alone is not enough because for me I want those chaps to be arrested by police and brother and Minister Garry Nkombo must come out on this Matter” the Sinda MP has said.

The law marker has further stated that what is more shocking is that the Council in Sinda is fully being managed by leaders who by political affiliations both the Council Secretary and the District Commissioner are from the ruling Party of which is it very easy for the aggrieved youths to engage in their leaders in a very amicable way as opposed to closing offices. ” In short for me and of course this is the position of my constituents, those cadres must be arrested otherwise because we are all aware that the President says he doesn’t want cadreism and yet others are doing the opposite” he has demanded.
