AS D-DAY DRAWS NIGH – THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR
Campaigns will intensify. Tempers will flare up frequently. Fake profiles will proliferate. Foul language will become commonplace.
Propaganda will become so frequent, distinguishing it from the truth will need checking against more than one source. AI will be abused.
Arrogance will be on full display. Bloated confidence will be the staple meal for some. Claiming that their favorite candidate has already won is equally going to be common.
Educated articles in favor of one school of thought or the other will be frequent material intended for your attention.
Alleged normative development processes will be argued backed by academic credentials to scare those outside economic disciplines against offering counter-arguments.
Figures about the economy will be thrown about to impress you. With so many people suffering from mathophobia and numerophobia, who wouldn’t be impressed?
You will be made to fear one section of the population and made to feel that your lives are safe with the other.
You hear messages of a better tomorrow only if you hand your mandate over to candidate x and not candidate y.
These and much more, you will hear and see. But guess what? No one has authority and expertise on the outcome of an election because you, as long as you have a voters’ card, are the master.
Only you know who, why and how you are going to vote. This is the only time in the political life of the nation that you hold the final say.
