AUGUSTINE MWEWA ANNOUNCES 2036 PRESIDENTIAL AMBITIONS

Bahati Independent parliamentary candidate Augustine Mwewa has announced his ambition to contest for the Presidency of Zambia in 2036.
Speaking during the Day Break Advocacy Town Hall Grand Debate held in Mansa on Thursday morning, Mr. Mwewa said his journey to the Presidency begins with the people of Bahati electing him as their Member of Parliament in the 13 August 2026 General Election.
He said the people of Bahati should first give him the opportunity to serve as MP, adding that the development he intends to deliver between 2026 and 2031 will demonstrate his leadership ability and serve as an example of the kind of leadership he would provide if elected President in 2036.
Mr. Mwewa urged voters to judge him based on his performance and commitment to development, stating that effective leadership at constituency level is the foundation for higher national leadership.
The remarks were made during the Town Hall Grand Debate organized by Day Break Advocacy in Mansa, where parliamentary candidates presented their manifestos and responded to questions from members of the public.
