…political kingmaker Vernon Mwaanga declares fragmented opposition cannot oust UPND as PF is knocked off the ballot paper

VETERAN politician and diplomat Vernon Mwaanga has declared that President Hakainde Hichilema is on course for a resounding victory in this year’s presidential election, citing fragmented opposition and solid economic strides.
Speaking recently on the Kenny T Podcast, the legendary political strategist reaffirmed his long-standing electoral projections.
Mr Mwaanga, who had served under four different Zambian administrations, boasts a flawless forecasting record since the dawn of multi-party democracy in 1991.
Mr Mwaanga revealed that the path to an opposition victory had effectively been blocked.
He noted that the Patriotic Front (PF), historically the nation’s major opposition force, was completely absent from this year’s election ballot paper.
Without a unified front, Mr Mwaanga argued it was mathematically and politically impossible for the fractured opposition to oust the ruling UPND.
“My insights are backed by decades of historical precision,” he said.
Mr Mwaanga recounted his past interventions where he accurately warned sitting heads of State of their impending defeats.
He revealed having advised Zambia’s founding father Kenneth Kaunda that the wind of change was unstoppable.
He also warned fourth Republican president Rupiah Banda of his looming defeat to fifth Republican president Michael Sata and correctly predicted Sixth Republican president Edgah Lungu’s loss to the incumbent, Mr Hichilema.
While Mr Mwaanga declined to pin down exact winning percentages, he emphasised that the margin of victory for President Hichilema would be ‘too wide’ for competitors to bridge.
He anchored this projection on the peace the country had enjoyed and the positive economic strides achieved under the current administration.
With the main opposition crippled and key economic indicators stabilising, Mr Mwaanga’s latest prediction signalled a clear runway for Mr Hichilema’s second term.
