Bangwe concedes defeat, congratulates Banda

CITIZENS First (CF) party Serenje’s Nkundalila Parliamentary Candidate Bangwe Naviley Chisenga has conceded defeat after emerging second position on first attempt obtaining 1,198 votes against the 4,462 votes of UPND’s Emmanuel Banda, who was reelected.

This is despite Bangwe building a 1×3 classroom block at Kalela, 1×2 at Moyenda, 1 classroom at Chisomo, a borehole at Chibale School, refurbishing Kabwe Kupela school, refurbishing Mailo School, among others.

Bangwe stated that he has phoned the victor Emmanuel Banda to congratulate him in person.

Mwape Spencer of the NRPUP came third with 1,059 votes, while Timothy Chitupila, an independent, finished fourth with 395 votes.

He added that he accepts the results with humility and wishes Banda well in serving the constituency.

Bangwe observed that he has learnt that in rural politics, feeding people on voting day matters more than a message of development.

He noted that to those who voted for candidates who could feed and transport them, he sees them and understands completely.

Bangwe advanced that he is deeply grateful to his donors, his team, and everyone who believed in him.

He confirmed that special thanks go to his party president, Harry Kalaba, for the financial and all support throughout this journey.

Bangwe affirmed that this is not defeat but fuel, and that emerging second on his first attempt alone is a statement

He emphasised that he is proud that there was no violence or character assassination in Nkundalila, but rather issue-based politics.

He also urged his supporters to hold their heads high and remain proud of their campaign run with integrity.
