BELARUS REPORTEDLY RESUMES SUPPORT FOR RUSSIAN DRONE ATTACKS ON WESTERN UKRAINE
Russia’s recent drone attacks on Ukraine’s Rivne, Volyn and Lviv regions were reportedly supported by signals relayed from Belarusian territory, according to Andriy Demchenko, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service.
The reports suggest that Belarus continues to provide operational support for Russia’s war through its territory, communications infrastructure and strategic position, without deploying its own troops across the border
Ukrainian officials previously reported that relay stations in Belarus had gone offline in June following a warning from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Their apparent reactivation suggests that the shutdown may have been temporary.
The development comes amid increasingly aggressive rhetoric from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, including military readiness exercises involving mobilization preparations.
Ukrainian border guards say they have not detected the formation of an offensive strike force near the border, and there is currently no confirmed evidence of an imminent Belarusian ground invasion.
However, Kyiv warns that Belarus’s role in the conflict extends beyond troop movements, with its territory and infrastructure potentially helping Russia expand the reach of its drone operations.
