Belgium seizes military parts bound for Israel  illegal shipment under investigation

Belgian authorities have seized two major shipments of military equipment at Liège Airport, originally sent from the United Kingdom and destined for Israel.

The operation followed intelligence provided by investigative networks, which flagged irregularities in cargo declarations that may violate security regulations.

Experts confirmed the seized items include fire control systems and critical fighter jet components, classified under military export codes but not properly declared to authorities.

Belgian officials stated the transfer was immediately blocked under strict national policies prohibiting the use of airspace and airports for transporting weapons linked to active conflict zones.

An investigation is now underway to identify those involved, with reports indicating some components were produced by aerospace firms based in Wolverhampton, UK, and similar attempts may have occurred previously.

The incident highlights Belgium’s firm stance on arms control enforcement, as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate.
