BREAKING: BINWELL MPUNDU REACHES OUT TO HICHILEMA FOR PEACE TALKS
Copperbelt politician Binwell Mpundu has expressed his intention to reach out to President Hakainde Hichilema for dialogue, calling for an honest conversation aimed at finding a better path for Zambia.
Mpundu said the country’s politics had become “primitive and dirty,” warning that failure to act could create further trouble.
He called on political leaders to sit around the table, put aside their differences and agree on a peaceful way forward.
“The time to talk is now, for tomorrow will be too late,” Mpundu said, while urging politicians to treat one another with respect and dignity.
He said he was taking the first step by reaching out to President Hichilema in the interest of peace and national unity

The suggestion in and of itself is absurd. Who does Binwell think he is?
After the threats that he made…and he thinks the Head of State should sit with him? And discuss what? He was prepared to kill or be killed. Over what? Zambians voted in peace. And the votes spoke. Who would we want to further engage a looser?
These cheap theatrics to garner attention waste time on development. Let those who have time to waste in continued waffling with looser do so. Their plan B failed why waste our time and lives ?
Binwell find something else to do in life…Zambian invested their votes in you and you were a pain in Parliament. We are done with you…Get a life please….
Binwell Mpundu should just come and join his fellow colleagues at mukobeko Prisons. Let him dialogue with his fellow colleagues while in remand prison, infact he is the causer of this whole episode hence time for him to come out of hiding.
First question is, ” who does Binwell Mpundu speak for?” Does he even know the formal way of contacting government if he wants to be taken seriously? And he’s one of those who would hv been in cabinet had the UPND not retained power, my goodness me, what would he have done with political power?
How do you reach out to the head of State for a matter that is before the courts of law ? All those years in parliament have been wasted on Binwell Mpundu because he clearly doesn’t understand the separation of powers of government. The executive does not interfere with the judiciary in the performance of it’s constitutional duties. The only time the office ofvthe president has some say is in the pardoning of convicted criminals. So let Binwell and his fellow career criminals go through the court process. If proved innocent, well and good. If guilty and convicted, then they can appeal for a presidential pardon. Until that day Binwell Chimutwe Mpundu and fellow treason suspects, you are on yowa own.
If HH agrees to even just give an audience to fugitives and career criminals at this stage, he is also in contempt of court.
Who does he think he is? The division and threats are in their heads. A vanquished loser wants to dialogue with the clear majority winner, and giving conditions? He must repent, serve his dues and keep quiet or start behaving normally. (Which is a tall order, as an MP he failed to live up to the honorable title, what about now when he is a fugitive?
Binwell Mpundu overrates himself. He does not have what it takes to be a politician. Unfortunately in Zambia being vocal is mistaken to be an attribute of a politician. This is the same chap who wanted to kill innocent people because of some promises he received from the pathetic losers. HH is busy, looking ahead how he will fulfil his promises to the nation. Whatever the people of Nkana saw in this chap to elect him member of parliament must be very big.
Don’t abuse our hardworking President. There is nothing to dialogue on here. If some people who wanted to oust the president at all cost lost their mission, how do they now come to dialogue with the same president?
You create a problem and offer the solution. Our politicians play the role of rubble rouser to attract attention and a place at the high table.
Mr. Mpundu was prepared to kill or be killed over the last elections. Literally, to him, it was a matter of life or death. But when he was called upon to live up to his threat, he disappeared to a safe place.
Leason: be careful who you support. Some of these vocal and caustic politicians have an exit plan and won’t be there when the nation goes up in flames. Mr. Emmanuel “Goebbels” Mwamba is one such character. And so is Emmanuel Jay Jay Banda, Chilufya Tayali, now joined by Mr. Mpundu.
They talk tough but chicken out when push comes to shove.
