BIZARRELY THERE WAS CONFUSION: COMMENTATOR SAID ZAMBIA HAD QUALIFIED AS GROUP WINNERS….BUT WE ARE OUT!

I posted on Tuesday too that we needed to win by a margin of 2 goals that is 2-0, 3-1 or even 3-2 to eliminate Malawi .
So winning 2-1 was NOT enough.
I consistently said this each time I was interviewed anywhere and on THIS wall before the match.
With all 3 teams Nigeria, Malawi and Zambia tied at THREE 3️⃣ points HEAD to HEAD is USED-that is you remove the Egypt result from all of them.
With all teams in the Mini-League having a goal difference of ZERO, Malawi top the mini-league having scored 4 goals (3 against Nigeria and 1 against Zambia ).
Then Nigeria second having scored 3; two against Malawi and 1 against Zambia .
Zambia only 2 against Malawi .
Copper Queens are OUT.
The confusion is such that no ONE explained this criteria to both teams.
It’s a serious anomaly because even the coaches DID not appear to KNOW.
I suspect Nora Hauptle had an idea by the subs she made late on.
At the final whistle, BIZARRELY neither Malawi nor Zambia players celebrated.
They didn’t know.
On television, the commentator claimed Zambia had qualified.
Being Zambia , against what I knew, I celebrated in the hope that he was right.
Alas, he WAS WRONG.
