BLACK BETTY DRONES JOIN UKRAINE’S RECONNAISSANCE AND STRIKE FLEET
Ukraine’s Defence Forces have received their first batch of 45 Black Betty loitering munitions through the Serhiy Prytula Foundation, alongside 14 Shark-M reconnaissance systems and nine RAM-2X strike systems.
The complete delivery is valued at approximately 69.8 million hryvnias. That figure covers the combined package, rather than the 45 Black Betty drones alone.
Black Betty is described as a modernised, lower-cost development of RAM-2X. Making these weapons more affordable matters: it gives donors and military procurement teams the opportunity to provide more strike capability from the same resources
The reconnaissance aircraft are equally important. Finding and tracking Russian equipment is what makes a precision strike possible. Delivering reconnaissance and strike systems together strengthens both parts of that effort, helping Ukrainian units locate threats and act on what they discover.
This is where public support becomes tangible. Donations become equipment delivered to soldiers, giving them additional tools to defend their positions and disrupt Russian forces.
Ukraine’s innovation depends on more than a successful design. It also needs sustained funding, production and deliveries. Supporting the organisations doing that work helps turn new ideas into capability in Ukrainian hands.
