Bola naikosa for the UPND, they’re ferrying people to rallies — Kambwili
FORMER Information Minister Chishimba Kambwili has alleged that the UPND is under pressure ahead of the August 13 general election, claiming the ruling party is ferrying people from different districts to attend its campaign rallies in an effort to create the impression of overwhelming public support.
And Kambwili has urged Zambians to vote for NRPUP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile, saying the UPND has failed to deliver on its promises.
“Let’s vote for Brian Mundubile. The UPND have failed. Do not be intimidated by the crowds President Hakainde Hichilema is pulling wherever he is going; they just ferry those people,” Kambwili said.
He alleged that during a recent UPND rally in Mpika, supporters were transported from Kasama, Shiwang’andu, Chinsali and Isoka to boost attendance.
“The other day when they were in Mpika, they ferried people from Kasama, Shiwang’andu, Chinsali, Isoka, and their rally comes to seem like they have a lot of people. In actual sense they are not attracting crowds,” he claimed.
Kambwili further argued that the large number of people dressed in UPND regalia at the rallies was another indication that attendees had been mobilised and transported by the party.
“Have you ever seen anywhere where a rally is held where all people are clad in their regalia? They are fake crowds. The game has become tough,” he said.
He contrasted the UPND rallies with those of Brian Mundubile, saying people attending the NRPUP candidate’s campaign meetings came in their ordinary clothes.
“I toured the Northern circuit with Brian Mundubile, and people that attended the rallies came with their own clothes. The UPND is only ferrying people,” Kambwili alleged.
