The Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) has reiterated that all political parties are free to campaign in Barotseland, emphasizing that Western Province remains open to every political player without intimidation or discrimination.

Speaking yesterday in Lealui shortly before departing for Limulunga Royal Village, the Ngambela of Barotseland, Mukela Manyando, urged the people of Barotseland to uphold the peace and unity inherited from their forefathers.

The Ngambela cautioned residents against allowing themselves to be manipulated by politicians into engaging in violence, stressing that such conduct is alien to Lozi culture and traditions.

He said every political party has the right to visit Western Province and present its manifesto to the people, adding that it is the democratic right of citizens to freely choose leaders they believe are best suited to represent them.

“The doors of the Kuta are open to everyone. All political parties are welcome in Barotseland, and the people should peacefully listen to their messages before making their own decisions,” the Ngambela emphasized.

He further stated that the Barotse Royal Establishment remains the parent institution of all people in Barotseland and has consistently maintained a neutral position during elections, without endorsing any political party or candidate.
