Taking matters in own hands and declaring yourself indirectly as republican president office winner is unimaginable in Africa and beyond.

I however wish to apeal to President HH to just ignore and not to react to BM self declaration as the winner of yesterday elections. What he did is a criminal offense under the new ECZ act which he was part of enacting a few months ago. He should ask me about it. 2 nights at Central Police cells felt like 2 years for according to them me apparently posting something they deemed not true during the Chawama by election a few months ago. I am still appearing in court defending myself to the charge.

In addition and elsewhere; BM’s stunt can easily be deemed as a treason offense. The late Raila Odinga then opposition presidential election candidate in Kenya, also prematurely declared himself winner. He ended up in court for many following years.

Then our own political history will show that Sir Michael Sata was arrested and in court for many years apparently for inciting miners to revolt following his rally in the Copperbelt. Videos are there online that upon his declaration, his akawawas went amok in the CBD of Lusaka causing commotion and distabiling general peace and tranquility. What if they even broke one or two public installations and facilities; then would even be a stiffer offense.

BM is a brother of mine and a good gentleman for that matter but not sure can say the same about him being a good leader. Thats where we fall apart. As a brother, I am at a loss as to why he is allowing himself to be mislead and Hijacked by cadres and others who have nothing to lose.

HH has tolerated so much abuse of his persona, his office and the law in general by his opponents and their supporters in the last few weeks or campaigns leading to the election yesterday. He has remained mute.  I however again hope and submit that this lapse in judgement by BM who is a lawyer, be ignored in the interest of magnanimity at this juncture of our Country’s geopolitics.

Nevertheless; I am also aware that majority of citizens in all the 10 provinces of Zambia, have watched with dismay on the conduct of HH’s opponents in the 2026 general elections. They must be saying ‘Inuf iz Inuf’.
