BRITAIN ANNOUNCES £10 BILLION IN ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE

Britain has announced an additional £10 billion—approximately $13.3 billion—in economic and export financing support for Ukraine. Zelenskyy welcomed the decision following a conversation with British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, thanking Britain for its continued leadership.

The package includes £7 billion in economic support over the next three years, including World Bank guarantees and funding to help sustain Ukraine’s economy. Another £3 billion will expand British export financing capacity, prioritising military supplies. This will help finance purchases of the weapons and equipment Ukraine needs, alongside Britain’s existing annual support.

Both parts matter. Ukraine must keep its economy functioning while defending its cities, maintaining essential services and repairing infrastructure repeatedly damaged by Russian attacks. Financing that helps sustain the country also supports its ability to resist a prolonged war.

Zelenskyy said the conversation also covered sanctions, with Britain maintaining its commitment to pressure on Russia. Supporting Ukraine’s defence and restricting Moscow’s resources must work together: one strengthens the country under attack, while the other raises the cost of continuing the invasion.

The next measure of this announcement will be its implementation—financing made available, contracts fulfilled and equipment reaching Ukraine when it is needed. For people facing another winter of Russian strikes, timely support has a direct meaning: a stronger chance of keeping the lights on and protecting lives.
