BREAKING: Caitlyn Jenner can’t travel internationally because of Trump’s passport policy — and her reaction is BLOWING UP on social media.

It’s somehow difficult to feel sympathy for someone who voted against their own interests and then suffers the consequences of their unwarranted allegiance to a candidate who couldn’t care less about them. And when they still profess to “love” the person responsible for the abrogation of their rights, one has to wonder about how they can live with this kind of cognitive dissonance.

Take Caitlyn Jenner, for instance. Jenner — who was born William Bruce Jenner — won a gold medal in the decathlon in the 1976 Olympics and was then featured on Wheaties boxes in grocery stores across the country. He later married Kris Kardashian, with whom he fathered Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

In 2015, Bruce Jenner came out publicly, changing his name to Caitlyn and becoming one of the most famous transgender women in the world. Jenner nonetheless remained a lifelong Republican who has actively opposed gender-affirming care for trans youth and spoken out against trans athletes.

So, it was somewhat ironic when the poster child for transgender MAGA supporters appeared on Tomi Lahren’s show this week to reveal that Trump’s passport policy has made it impossible for her to travel internationally.

“What do I do? This is a safety factor. I can’t travel internationally anymore. I can’t use my passport,” Jenner said. Her renewed passport now lists her sex as M — male — despite a decade of documentation listing her as female. She wrote Trump a personal letter explaining the impact. She asked for his help.

Trump never responded.

Her reaction? “I haven’t heard from him. He’s kind of busy right now. My gender marker is not big on the issue. OK. So, I get that, and I’m not blaming him whatsoever. I love the guy, and I love what he’s doing.”

She loves the guy. The guy who took away her ability to travel. The guy who didn’t respond to her letter. The guy who has systematically targeted transgender Americans through executive orders, military bans, healthcare restrictions, and sports prohibitions. She loves him and loves what he’s doing.

Let’s be clear about the real stakes here — not for Caitlyn Jenner, who has the platform and resources to navigate this, but for the estimated 1.6 million transgender Americans who don’t. A survey of 84,000 trans adults found that 22 percent reported harassment, assault, or denial of services when their ID didn’t match how they presented. A passport with the wrong gender marker isn’t an inconvenience. For many people, it’s a safety crisis.

Jenner acknowledged this: “For a lot of people, this is a huge issue.” She even noted the policy could affect her ability to vote. And yet: “I love the guy.”

This is the consequence of spending years telling yourself that the Republican politicians you support don’t really mean it when they target your community. That they’ll make an exception for you. That if you just stay quiet about trans rights, oppose the “right” trans issues, and prove yourself sufficiently acceptable, you’ll be protected.

Trump’s passport policy doesn’t make exceptions for Olympic champions. It doesn’t make exceptions for Kardashian-adjacent celebrities. It doesn’t make exceptions for Republican donors. It doesn’t respond to personal letters.

The trans community tried to warn her. She didn’t listen. And now she’s on Tomi Lahren’s show, saying she can’t travel internationally and that she loves the guy who did it to her.

The saddest part isn’t that Trump didn’t respond to her letter. It’s that she’s still making excuses for him anyway.
