CAPTAIN IBRAHIM TRAORÉ STUNS THE WORLD AS BURKINA FASO INAUGURATES ITS FIRST GOLD REFINERY, ENDING THE ERA OF EXPORTING RAW WEALTH FOR OTHERS TO PROFIT
HISTORY IS BEING MADE IN OUAGADOUGOU!
On Monday, September 28, 2026, President Captain Ibrahim Traoré inaugurated RAFFINOR-BF, the first national gold refinery of Burkina Faso.
Built with more than 11 billion CFA francs, mobilized by the Burkinabè state through SONASP and the national private sector, the facility starts with a refining capacity of 164 tonnes of gold per year, with plans to reach 515 tonnes
Captain Traoré made his vision clear: Burkina Faso wants the entire value chain at home, and he urged the youth to master advanced technical skills.
The authorities aim to process the country’s gold locally and position Burkina Faso as a leading gold-refining hub in West Africa.
The lesson for Africa is clear: refine at home, keep the value, build the future.
