CHALLENGE AND DENOUNCE HICHILEMA WHEN HE TELLS LIES – CATHOLIC CHURCH
CATHOLIC church of Zambia has urged all Zambians to speak out whenever President Hakainde Hichilema makes false statements.
During his Sunday homily, Fr Kabuswe said citizens should denounce any leader who tells “lies,” referring to claims that people from Southern Province were beaten at Lusaka’s Intercity Bus Terminus for supporting the ruling UPND.
He also called on the Electoral Commission of Zambia to conduct its work fairly and patriotically, saying public confidence in the institution depends on its impartiality.
Fr Kabuswe warned that political leaders should not attempt to manipulate the will of the people, cautioning that such actions could destabilize the country. He further expressed concern that some media houses had become compromised and were failing to report the truth during the ongoing election campaign period.
