CHANGES REGARDING THE PF EXTRAORDINARY CONVENTION IN GOOD FAITH

Patriotic Front (PF) Chairperson for Information and Publicity Hon. Raphael Mangani Nakacinda has dispelled falsehoods surrounding the highly anticipated PF convention.
Hon Nakacinda explained that the extraordinary general conference has attracted both negative interests and positive ones.
The PF Member of the Central Committee warned that there are people who wish for the party’s destruction after the convention.
He said this when he addressed the media in Luanshya today.
“Everybody must know that the general conference has attracted both positive interests and negative interests. We have our enemies and detractors who are wishing and pronouncing that the convention will lead to the destruction of the party,” he said.
“And therefore, they will find all means to exert pressure on Patriotic Front to hold that conference based on their ill intent that possibly it will lead to destruction of the party. There are also others within the party who out of ignorance peddling falsehood among ourselves suggesting that possibly there could be others with ill motives or hidden agendas surrounding the issue of the general conference.”
Hon Nakacinda said the only way PF will succeed is when its members rise above personal interest and look at the interests of the party as well as the nation.
He said this should be the guiding principle on how PF is going to prevail towards the conference and how the conference itself will be held.
“So these social media articles, sentiments that are circulating suggesting that the money that was raised for the general conference has disappeared at the secretariat, that is erroneous, it is malicious,” he said.
“The process of raising funds for the conference continues. Of course, because of the economic hardships on the Zambians and members of PF are subjected to under the New Dawn, the accumulation of the funds needed was at a slow pace. But we are determined to make sure that every required process, mechanisms that are needed to be put in place before the conference are all put in place.”
He assured members that a successful conference will be held that will be transparent, legitimate and one that leaves no stone unturned to make sure that the leadership that the party will make will succeed.
He said whether or not PF is going to hold the conference in March is a question that will be answered by the processes that the party will be undertaking.
“Mainly, the review of the constitution and then the other required process. There are also laws that dictate how we should move and the pace at which we should move. So with that clarification, the official position of the party is not all those malicious statements,” he said.
“We are determined to have a credible conference to be held as projected. If at all there are any adjustments, it will be in good faith.”
