CHARLES KAKOMA APOLOGISES TO UPND MEMBERS FOR DEFECTING TO PF AS HE CLARIFIES ABOUT THE MEAT HIS WIFE WAS SMOKING FOR CAMPAIGNS
RESIGNATION REACTIONS.
My resignation from the Patriotic Front yesterday has brought alot of mixed reactions. I thank everyone for taking interest in the matter.
I have received phone calls, WhatsApp messages and Facebook postings to this effect. My assessment is that there are more people who have welcomed my decision to resign from the Patriotic Front than those who are against.
To all those who have welcomed my decision to resign from the Patriotic Front and encouraged me to soldieron, I say THANK YOU. I appreciate your advice.
To those who are against my decision to resign from the Patriotic Front, I also thank you for exercising your freedom of expression. It is however interesting to note that there were some UPND members who reacted negatively to my decision to resign from the Patriotic Front.
I would have expected PF members to be more affected than UPND members. However, it appears to me that some UPND members are still hurt by my decision to defect from the UPND to the Patriotic Front last year. This is understandable. To all those whose feelings were hurt as a result of my decision to defect from the UPND last year, I say SORRY. I’m aware that some of my followers ended up in hospital while others failed to eat food for some days because my decision impacted on them negatively. I apologise for the anguish I caused to them.
Lastly, I wish to clarify on some video that has gone viral on social media about my wife roasting some meat on a braii and alleging that the meet was a bribe from the Patriotic Front. That is false. The meat is from my farm. I keep cattle, pigs, goats and fish at my farm. This is a farm that I established while I was still in the opposition UPND. All she did was to go to her husband’s farm and slaughter some animals. I would ordinarily have ignored such postings but the problem is that it endangers her life. Some Zambians are angry that the PF stole their money which was used in the elections. She risks being beaten or even killed because of fake propaganda.
Fellow Zambians, let us exercise our freedom of expression based on facts.
