CHIEF MUKUNI IMPLORES THE YOUTH TO REJECT VIOLENCE
Senior Chief Mukuni of the Toka-Leya people in Kazungula District has implored citizens to turn out in large numbers and vote for President HH in the forthcoming election.
The traditional leader advised young people to steer clear of political violence, pointing out that there is no place for such behaviour in Zambia.
He stated that young people must reject violence and focus on contributing positively to the development of the country.
He addressed a team from the National Council of Students Unions (NACOSU) when they visited him. Chief Mukuni commented that Zambia has made substantial progress over the last five years, hence the need to give the President another mandate.
Chief Mukuni also praised the Free Education Policy, which has enabled many Zambian children to access education.
NACOSU Chairperson Michelo Chizombe pledged the union’s continued support for initiatives that promote development and unity.
The NACOSU Vice Chairperson for Student Affairs explained that students have a critical role to play in promoting peace and should participate responsibly in national affairs.
