CHILUFYA TAYALI HAS A POINT, BUT DID HE GO TOO FAR?
Chilufya Tayali has delivered a rather colourful warning about the government’s communication strategy, questioning why Emmanuel Mwamba and JJ Banda appear to be keeping government officials so busy responding to their claims.
Beneath the rather crude choice of words lies a serious argument about whether the government is setting its own agenda or allowing its critics to set it.
Some of his observations deserve consideration, although I suspect the language may make his message rather difficult for those in government to receive warmly.
Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see whether the government responds to the substance of his criticism rather than the manner in which it was delivered.
Sometimes a valid point can be weakened by the very words used to make it.

Lets me serious. What do you want the state to do? Already the state and its agencies acted to foil a matter that would have escalated into something else. What is Davis Mwila on about? What is Mwamba Emmanuel on about? What is the Church on about? When the DPP explained the reason for the delay in the matter. How many people discounted his explaination?
As for Mr. Tayali. He was very clear. He wants a job. Does a convicted felon get a “free pass” to jump all manner if competent people to be given a seat at the high table? Does a man who has conducted himself in the manner he has. Disparaged not just this government but the Edgar Lungu regime as well, have the right to suggest he has something of substance to offer? Just because he can run his mouth? How many people have that canning ability and arent felons? Just last week we had Mtonga running his mouth suggesting he was the brains of this year’s FRA plan.
Lets be serious. We can all run our mouths but what value will it add to the poor of the poor among us. Tayali just wants to find a means to feed himself. Not particular talent. Just a means to an end, is all he seeks. So does very living Zambian who wakes up at the crack of dawn or doesnt sleep while those who can afford to do….Tayali get a life.
This is another person seeking to “free-load” while others do the heavy lifting….Zambia has supported far too many free loaders who just…Politicking for a living. Entitled person who thinks the rest are not deserving but him.
