Addressing the United Party for National Development of Hakainde Hichilema, Chilufya Tayali said that it is dangerous for a ruling party to leave political space unoccupied by failing to drive its own agenda and merely reacting to opposition allegations.
He noted that when a political administration becomes reactive, it risks allowing opponents to dictate public discourse.
Tayali emphasized that public perceptions, emotions, and the communication of information significantly influence citizens’ views of their government, referencing Jesus Christ as an example of someone who, despite good deeds, faced criticism from opponents.
Tayali also questioned how Ambassador Emmanuel Mwamba and Honourable Emmanuel Jay Banda manage to capture public attention, contrasting this with how government officials often issue rebuttals that lag behind popular opinions.
He asserted the necessity for effective political communication to be timely and strategic, rather than predominantly reactive.
Tayali highlighted the disparity between political engagement, using Hichilema’s parliamentary address and Honourable Emmanuel Jay Banda’s simultaneous effort at Heroes Stadium as a case in point.
He clarified that he does not propose that the government ignore falsehoods but instead stressed the need for a balance between correcting misinformation and driving the political agenda.
Tayali expressed frustration over his status as an external commentator, feeling unrecognized as a strategic player despite providing insights on political developments – a hint that he wants a formal government job.
Any person who is so gullible that they can follow JJ BANDA cannot listen to reason.what JJ Banda did was promise people money free money,those who flocked to Heroes stadium are lovers of free things….lovers of tantamount.Emmanuel Mwamba was so happy that happened,because what He wants to see in my view is President HH’s government to fail.The more confusion created by such people like JJ BANDA,the happier people like Emmanuel Mwamba will be.Emmanuel Mwamba in my view knows that people like JJ Banda should not be taken seriously…but as long as they are making it difficult for UPND to govern,in view people like Mwamba are happy.
Well bottom line is come 2031 whether under hh or someone else no any other party ll form government apart from United Party for National development. Most of the wars currently on going Russia, Ukraine and mid east ll be ending soon and that should should give hh an upper hand to push grow Zambia.
We have had enough that Tayali wants a job. But a job to do what? Can you honestly employ such an uncontrolled talkative character and expect any good performance?
What I know is that challenging falsehoods and fake narratives is not an easy thing.But it is very important to give a clear picture to the people as quick as possible so that the people can get the right information.The ECZ has answered the lie Mwamba was trying to mislead the nation that ECZ gave out the MP slots to UPND on the proportion al presentation.It is important for institutions that are affected by fake propaganda to react as quick as possible.The nation has now known that PRNPUP was written to, for the submission of full list of names but didn’t do that in a stimulated time, according to the law.And ECZ acted accordingly without breaking the law.Mwamba’s fake narrative has since died.Mwamba and JJ Banda are like “Siamese” twins who share some elements.In this case propaganda of fake narratives, lies, disinformation and many more bad vices.
