China  and Russia Oppose Push to Refer Iran’s Nuclear Issue to UN Security Council

China and Russia have opposed efforts by France, the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States to push for Iran’s nuclear issue to be referred to the UN Security Council.

The three countries argued that such measures would not resolve the underlying disputes or help address the wider tensions in the region.

The development comes amid continued international pressure over Iran’s nuclear program and growing disagreements between Tehran and Western powers over how the issue should be addressed.

The situation remains closely watched as diplomatic tensions continue to escalate.
