CHIPOKA MULENGA DENIES LINKS TO ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES AT OB19 DUMPSITE

Chingola West Member of Parliament Chipoka Mulenga has dismissed as unfounded, malicious and fabricated, allegations circulating on social media linking him to alleged illegal activities involving jerabos at the OB19 mining dumpsite.
Mr. Mulenga says the allegations are being circulated by what he describes as rogue social media outlets seeking public attention and relevance.
Speaking to Phoenix News, Mr. Mulenga says he had seen the reports but had chosen not to respond to every allegation, as doing so would distract him from his responsibilities as a lawmaker.
He says his focus remains on ensuring that mineral resources in his constituency benefit local communities.
Mr. Mulenga says proceeds from mining activities should be channeled into sustainable businesses capable of providing long-term livelihoods, rather than leaving communities dependent on mining pits.
